Belgian Design Pavilion x Kanvas Spanplafonds
The iconic Broeltorens are the place where history and future meet during WONDER. Under the title Belgian Design Pavilion, curators Timon Mattelaer and Joris Verstrepen bring the cream of Belgian contemporary design to Kortrijk. The scenography comes about in collaboration with Kanvas Spanplafonds. Their acoustic banner serves as a stylish framework for the design pieces.
With 'Mimesis', 4n20 explores the tangents between art and design. An interesting dialogue is started, with artists and designers among themselves, and with the visitor. Group exhibition with work by Alexander Bossuyt - Katleen Deleu - Lieve D'Hondt - Brecht Heytens - Free Pectoor & Thibeau Scarcériaux.
Atelier Nooitgedacht invites production company Tegenadem for a unique musical performance in which they will showcase their auditorium: an experimental sound and recording machine that bridges the gap between musicians and audience.
Kortrijk Art Weekend
The second WONDER weekend will see the very first Kortrijk Art Weekend, a collaboration between more than 20 Kortrijk arts organisations as a platform for contemporary art.
BuroMuro is a print collective that is the missing link between artists and enthusiasts. On WONDER, they will present WONDERWALL at the Budafabriek with work by their illustrators.
Belfort Projection Mapping
Students in their final year Devine Howest-KASK take over the Belfry on the Grote Markt with their projections, immersing bystanders in a wondrous digital spectacle, in collaboration with Designregio Kortrijk and Urban Mapping.
Aluvision will suprise visitors at the Buda Factory with numerous eye-catching set-ups. With daring imagination and unrivalled technical expertise, Aluvision is known within the fairs & events industry as a trendsetter in the development of sustainable, modular building systems.
MY DEAR OBJECT
During this exhibition by artists Arno Camps & Elvira Mulkay and Orac Decor, objects and materials will find their way back into the assembly of a sculpture that will take its total form throughout the WONDER period with the help of visitors.
