Table Talks #1 with Bram Vanderbeke: a lunch that kept resonating
Design region Kortrijk launched the new initiative “Table Talks” on June 19th.
An intimate lunch formula where one guest, one theme and one table are the starting point for inspiring encounters.
Best of all, the guest chooses the lunch (and dessert), the location, the theme and more.
During the first edition, designer and artist Bram Vanderbeke took participants through his personal view of the border area between design, art and architecture.
The setting was anything but coincidental: Bram chose The Pit's, the oldest alternative concert hall(s) in Belgium, and located in Kortrijk. A place he has considered home since he was sixteen. The unique atmosphere of this venue provided the ideal basis for an open conversation full of reflection and exchange.
The setting and the lunch, chosen by Bram and consisting of vegetarian spaghetti and chocolate mousse, quickly developed into a casual conversation in itself. At the table, new ideas emerged, perspectives shifted and unexpected connections found their way between people and disciplines.
Table Talks is a place for creatives who are curious about other perspectives, like to listen and think along. Participants were selected based on their questions around the theme, making for a diverse, engaged group.
The first edition was attractively portrayed by Lukas Dedeurwaerder and tastes like more.
Stay tuned for edition #2.
