All The Small Things
In the beautiful crown room of the Texture museum, our 3 Designers in Residence showed All The Small Things, the final presentation of their three-month residency in Kortrijk.
All three designers started working with textiles and the textile history of the Kortrijk region:
Yufei follows the journey of the linen border posts in her video essay and uses the history of Kortrijk to reflect on the intertwining of people, industry and migration. Eszter explores the intertwined history of weaving and computing with her work ‘Edge or No Edge’. Julie explores structural patterns and interference in weaving with ‘A change in the frequency’, exploring the possibilities of creating new materials and colours that change depending on the position of the viewer.
