The Circular Roadtrip 2025

We make a journey of discovery through circular West and East Flanders, we listen and watch pitches and visit companies and custom companies that are now creating business within the circular economy.

Thanks to the day trip formula it is possible to make all kinds of contacts during the day on the bus and exchange knowledge about new developments towards circular economy.

Valvan (Menen)

At Valvan, we see how technology and AI are transforming the recycling industry. Valvan designs and builds automated sorting solutions that replace labor-intensive processes. A prime example is Fibersort®, an innovative textile sorting machine that separates fabrics based on fiber composition and color.

Valvan is also asserting itself internationally: for example, it developed a machine for an American recycling chain that sorts and prices more than 1,500 books per hour.

Desotec (Roeselare)

Desotec is a leading environmental service company actively contributing to a cleaner, greener world with mobile filtration solutions. With their innovative, circular filtration technology, they purify air, water and other fluids for industrial customers in Europe and the US, using activated carbon that is recovered, reactivated and prepared for reuse after use.

Lunch at EAT@12 (Oudenaarde)

At noon, we have lunch at EAT@12, the catering service of Oudenaarde-based custom-built company Aarova, which we see at work in a circular case later in the day

Gleenie

After lunch, we listen to an inspiring pitch from start-up Gleenie. This platform brings farmers and consumers together to combat food waste.

Consumers can still harvest leftover crops in the field at minimal cost. This way they get fresh produce directly from the farmer, while waste is reduced.

Samsonite & Aarova (Oudenaarde)

Sustainability has been at the heart of Samsonite for decades. By focusing on high-quality materials, the company extends the life of its suitcases.

We discover the beautiful collaborative project with Aarova: irreparable suitcases are completely disassembled in the tailoring company, after which the polypropylene shells are recycled into new suitcases. A great example of a circular chain!

Staenis (Zulte)

Finally, we are introduced to Staenis' revolutionary CircoFloor system. This circular floor system replaces sprayed PUR and traditional screed construction. It is fully demountable, moisture-resistant and insulating, and eliminates the need for cement and chemicals.

In addition, used CircoFloors can be easily reused, contributing to a more sustainable construction process.

• A reception will be provided from 7:40 a.m. at Voka West Flanders. The bus leaves around 8:00 am. We will be back in Kortrijk around 5:30 pm.

Price

• Participation in this Circular Roadtrip is free, but registration is required.

For privacy reasons, we inform you that visual material may be created at this event - in the form of photographs and/or film - which may be used later through Voka media channels.

Cancellations can only be made free of charge by mail to the responsible person mentioned and this at the latest by Thursday, June 12. In case of late cancellation, we are forced to charge a no-show-fee of € 75 for catering, transport and other organizational costs. If you are unexpectedly unable to attend, a colleague can always take your place.
