From April 18 to May 2, MOOOV drops down in South-West Flanders. MOOOV Film Festival, where you will be taken on a journey around the world. Lose yourself in stories from all corners of the world. Enjoy a fantastic festival with various films and activities at different locations in the region.
During two weeks, MOOOV organizes a special mix of films and fun activities in different places in Flanders. Everyone can discover stories from all over the world in an easy way. The film festival is a cozy place to meet. In West Flanders, it takes place from April 18 to May 2. Every year MOOOV selects several films and brings them to cinemas in the Benelux, with additional material that goes deeper into the film, its makers and its themes.
Besides the film festival itself, South West Flanders is buzzing with activities organized by MOOOV. Discover a range of workshops and unique film experiences during MOOOV.
Sustainability event MOOOV Film Festival: Tuesday, April 30
Discover the Sustainability Event during the MOOOV Film Festival South-West Flanders on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. in Howest Building A, Kortrijk. Film can broaden our view and learn so much, but our knowledge and vigor increases significantly in conversation with each other. That is why MOOOV in cooperation with HOWEST, City of Kortrijk, the Mondiale Raad Kuurne, 3PT Consult and several business platforms is organizing an inspiring event during the film festival 2024 where the themes of sustainability and Circular Economy are central.
Program:
- 18u30: Join the an inspiring connecting networking moment, with opportunity to share and discover (your own) sustainable initiatives. Meanwhile, enjoy a snack and drink.
- 19:30: Welcome to the film festival, after which Route 2030 will take you into the wonderful world of circular economy with an engaging keynote. Route 2030 provides strategic sustainability advice to businesses, entrepreneurs and civil society organizations. In doing so, they use the SDGs as a starting point. This keynote will be given by Esmée Verkooijen. As a sustainability consultant and climate coach at Climate Contact, she has a toolbox of methods to integrate sustainability into a business. To this end, she has an extra eye for the psychological aspect in sustainability issues. This does not prevent Esmée from zooming out from time to time to see if goals are being achieved according to the most logical structures.
- 20:15: Screening of the film Banel & Adama
- Banel, a young woman with a secret, is hopelessly in love with her childhood sweetheart Adama. Despite their different characters and the different expectations of their families, they choose each other. They want to go through life together, but that is not to the liking of the villagers. The ongoing drought also causes problems, and it soon becomes apparent that there is no room for passion.
