Hack The Material
With Hack The Material, we highlight company products in an innovative way, combining creativity, experimentation and challenge.
Materials are pulled out of their everyday context by the creative designers, analyzed and revisited to be combined within a new, creative setting in an inspiring installation.

Ledro Powder Coatings, Blue Label & Nortstudio
Hack The Material is an innovative experiment where industry meets design. Ledro Powder Coatings and Blue Label are collaborating with creative studio Nortstudio, supported by young talent, to present materials in an unexpected way. By combining Ledro Powder Coatings' powder-coated MDF panels with Blue Label's acoustic PET material, these industrial materials are taken out of their usual context and used in a new, playful way. The result is a visually impressive installation that invites visitors to rethink the boundaries between technology, material and design.
HACK THE MATERIAL was presented at WONDER Creativity Festival at the Buda Factory from Friday 17 October tem Sunday 3 November.
Fedustria, textile manufacturing companies and Victor Verhelst
For WONDER Creativity Festival, Designregio Kortrijk partnered with Fedustria. The result is the textile installation STARLIGHT SHINE developed by Victor Verhelst in collaboration with the 6 Belgian textile production companies B&T Textilia, Green Street Fabrics, Belo Velvets, Van Neder, Tessutica, Aarova. The installation was on show during the festival at the Patria on the Grote Markt in Kortrijk and then travelled on to the Pinacoteca Civica museum in Como, Italy.
Hack The Material - 2021
Designer Sep Verboom and young talents Amber Dewaele and Isabeau Goddé took the floor out from under your feet with IVC Commercial.
An installation based on vinyl and carpet tiles from IVC Commercial, but taken completely out of context. Three designers, including Designer of the Year 2020 Sep Verboom, set to work under the heading “Hack The Material,” and in the meantime, the project reached its conclusion. The result is an installation that starts from de-flooring, with an organic look in which sensory experience and wellbeing are the common thread. The installation was presented at our WONDER festival of Biennale Interieur, city of Kortrijk and Designregio Kortrijk, among others.
