Textile partners announced for TEX DESIGN featuring artist Charbel Abou Zeidan
TEX DESIGN is an initiative by Fedustria and Designregio Kortrijk that brings together Belgian textile companies and creative talent. The project aims to encourage the textile sector to think more creatively, innovatively and internationally. By collaborating on experimental installations and innovative applications, companies discover new market opportunities and strengthen their image as a forward-looking manufacturing industry.
For this third edition, we will be collaborating with artist and designer Charbel abou Zeidan. In February, we launched an open call for textile companies to apply for TEX DESIGN. We are proud to announce our participating textile companies: BekaertDeslee, B&T Textilia, De Poortere Frères, Green Street Fabrics, Ragolle Rugs, Sofa Cover and AAROVA.
Seven companies are participating in this edition, each with distinct expertise and identity within the textile sector:
BekaertDeslee
Operating internationally and specialising in high-quality mattress ticking and accessories for sleep comfort. BekaertDeslee is renowned for its innovative strength, design-driven approach and focus on sustainability.
B&T Textilia
A leading name in the weaving of technical and decorative textiles, with applications in interiors, contract furnishings and bespoke work. The company combines traditional craftsmanship with modern production techniques.
De Poortere Frères
A leading carpet manufacturer with a strong international reputation. De Poortere Frères is renowned for its design-led collections and ongoing investment in innovative yarn and weaving technologies.
Green Street Fabrics
Specialising in outdoor and performance fabrics, with a clear focus on sustainability, recyclability and technical performance. Their textiles are used in outdoor living, contract and design.
Ragolle Rugs
An established name in machine-woven carpets and rugs. Ragolle Rugs combines a rich textile heritage with contemporary design and a strong export-oriented focus.
Sofa Cover
An expert in sofa and furniture covers, with a focus on bespoke solutions, user-friendliness and material innovation. The company develops solutions that respond to changing living habits and comfort requirements.
AAROVA
Specialising in innovative and technical textile applications, with a strong R&D-driven approach. AAROVA explores new possibilities at the intersection of textiles, technology and functionality.
About TEX DESIGN
TEX DESIGN is a platform for cross-pollination between designers and the textile industry. Through joint experimentation and development, new insights, prototypes and applications emerge that are relevant from both a creative and an industrial perspective. The project contributes to the visibility and future-proofing of the West Flemish textile sector.
Charbel abou Zeidan
Charbel is an artist and designer based in Kortrijk, born in Lebanon, with a background in architecture, painting, photography, haute couture and sculpture. With a background in architecture and years of experience as a lead designer in haute couture, he has developed a refined sensitivity to lines, textures and materials. The artist’s personal experience of moving between cultures has visibly influenced his artworks.
For Charbel, migration does not represent a rupture, but is a source of light, connection and enrichment. This perspective is reflected in his work, which combines Arab and European influences. Charbel took part in the WONDER Creativity Festival in 2024 and 2025.
Sébastien Hylebos
Sébastien assists businesses in innovation and design. He is also responsible for projects on circular economy and digitalisation in cooperation with companies and designers.
