OPEN CALL residency @Be-Part
Be-Part and rhizome_ are offering a residency spot this summer for artists who want to focus on developing interdisciplinary work from 1 July until 14 September 2025.
The residency takes place in the exhibition space of rhizome_, located in the station district of Kortrijk. This unique workspace fosters a direct relationship with the surroundings and the city.
The residency is built on three key pillars.
First, the residency focuses on artists who consider research an essential part of their practice. During this period, the emphasis is on process and experimentation, with a particular focus on projects that have a distinctly interdisciplinary approach. Collaborations that reinforce this approach are actively encouraged.
In addition, the residency embraces hybrid art practices that explore the boundaries between different disciplines. These can be diverse fields such as visual art, audiovisual art, dance, music, choreography, scenography and performance.
The third pillar concerns the relationship to the public. The studio is approached as a space for encounter, dialogue and exchange. Initiatives that consciously seek to connect with the urban context and engage the public in innovative ways are encouraged. To support this interaction, one or two presentation weekends are provided during the residency.
The residency runs from 1 July to 14 September, 2025, culminating in a public showcase on 13 and 14 September.
Who can apply?
- Artists with a transdisciplinary and experimental approach.
- Those looking to further develop their work or artistic research while also advancing their professional careers.
- Artists residing in Belgium.
- Applicants must be available to collaborate on and attend the public showcase as part of the residency.
- Artists must be present at the residency site for the majority of the period between July 1 and September 14, 2025.
