Exhibition FRAMEWORK at Architect@Work Kortrijk

ARCHITECT@WORK is the meeting place of choice for architects and interior designers looking for innovative products, materials and services. An expert jury of peers assesses each product for quality and relevance, ensuring that only the most valuable innovations are presented. The specially designed layout puts the full focus on these innovations. In addition, A@W offers an inspiring programme of seminars and fringe activities.

During this 12th edition, the central theme is ‘Thoughtful Tomorrow’. The theme encourages reflection on how the many innovations presented - together with social, cultural and environmental considerations - can foster a future in which architecture is more intelligent, resilient and responsive.

Bram Lattré is a Belgian night artist who uses light, darkness and data to represent the intangible. His work includes interactive installations, light sculptures and monumental projections. A co-founder of tBEDRIJF, a collective of artists, architects and engineers, he creates instant architecture with video, light, audio and 3D structures. In 2015, he was awarded the Ernest Brengier Culture Prize. His light shows, combine visual poetry, media art and video mapping. One of Bram's installations ‘Pixel Dance’ was shown at last year's WONDER festival at Broelkaai 6 Kortrijk.

Designregio Kortrijk brings together the next generation of Kortrijk architects with the exhibition FRAMEWORK. The four studios, Het Kabinet Architecten, Cabaan, CDG Studio and Buro Loco, visualise the future by translating their progressive architectural concepts into models. They inspire with insights on smart re-use, space and materials.

Cabaan designs with knowledge, creativity and a large dose of gusto. From renovations and collective housing to public buildings, every project is given a unique, well-considered interpretation. They believe in the power of a construction team. In open dialogue with clients and contractors, they seek the balance between dream and reality. For them, architecture is more than aesthetics. They create spaces that feel contemporary, connect and are in harmony with their surroundings.

Sustainability is in their DNA. They like to incorporate recycled materials and think ahead, with respect for the current context and a vision of an inspiring future. Their close-knit team of five is driven and opinionated. With a mix of talents and fresh insights, they reinforce each other and lift each design to a higher level. Together, they create architecture that stays.

In 2022, Artuur Coffez & Nicola De Groote founded their architecture & design studio CDG Studio. Based in Kortrijk, the studio designs under the motto playful minimalism. The focus is on sustainable architecture and purified interiors, with surprising touches in the use of materials and colours.

ARCHITECTURE is always a process. An ever-clearer, self-revealing puzzle, where complexity challenges and thus results in character and innovation. 
The process consists of exploring space, plan, programme, construction, detail, logic, light and material.
Always demarcated by specific preconditions, an ever unique answer to the design issue is created each time.

BURO LOCO grew from the idea that not everything has to be serious, grey, perfect or conventional. Architecture with a bold, playful or unexpected twist appeals and radiates. 
Creative and compact building results in warm, involved architecture.
