About

Tuur Vermandere (1998) has been curious about how products are made since he was a child. He researches the functioning, the materials and the processing into products.

In order to delve deeper into his interests, Tuur chose to study Product Design at the Hogeschool West-Vlaanderen in Kortrijk.

"Many people have lost their feeling with (consumer) products because of an overabundance of mass-produced items. That is why I think it is important to show the craft that precedes these products.

By visualising the design process of his products, Tuur wants to rekindle that feeling for handmade products. Studio Castard grew out of these interests and wants to offer an answer to the alienation of crafts.

Studio Castard is a step back into the world of mass production. With a passion for sustainable customisation, love for materials, eye for detail and with respect for people and the environment. Products are designed and handmade to suit you and your interior. Products that each tell their own story and will do so for years to come.

Vision
