Klaas De Baere

Klaas is a mixed media storyteller who expresses himself through illustration, performance, writing and playful objects.

Starting from his sketchbooks he creates illustrations, objects, installations and performances which illustrate a journey through an imaginary village.
Shapes that originate in his grandparents’ village develop into objects, drawings and large installations which he uses as decors in his narrative landscape.
In his work he plays with a sense of depth, flatness, storytelling and shape.
