Masterclass mixed media by Julien Maire
Learn from the best!
In this Mixed Media masterclass on Monday 24 November, you will receive tips and tricks from none other than French new media artist Julien Maire.
Julien Maire
Julien Maire (born 1969) has been working at the intersection of performance, media installations and film since the 1990s. He creates hybrid works and installations that are often performed live. His work has been shown at festivals and institutions worldwide, including Transmediale, Ars Electronica, Film Festival Rotterdam, Sonar, ZKM and ICC Tokyo.
Julien is currently a permanent resident at iMAL in Brussels and is one of the managers of FabLab.iMAL.

Masterclass
Julien Maire shares his experience and vision of moving images with participants. His research deliberately avoids traditional audiovisual techniques in order to discover new ways of seeing and storytelling. In this masterclass, Julien shows which software and hardware he uses for his installations and explains the ideas and aesthetics that guide his work. Julien will also take the time to look at your own work and give you tips and tricks.

ON/ART
The cross-border ON/ART project aims to create a stimulating community in which media artists, digital creators and both organisations collaborate, share tools and realise joint projects.
Le Fresnoy (Tourcoing, France) brings years of experience in media art and strong links with contemporary technology. Designregio Kortrijk (Kortrijk, Belgium) has extensive expertise in networking and community building.
This exchange of knowledge opens up new opportunities for new media artists and creators on both sides of the border.
