James Van Vossel is a versatile designer with a constant need to innovate and an irrepressible stubbornness to achieve his goal. His drive is not to simply bring another object to market, but to reshape archetypes, searching and questioning them with a constant curiosity for new insights and disciplines. In 2006, he founded his all-encompassing brand JAMES ̇ ̇ ̇ ̇ ̇. His range reflects his search for clear, balanced and functional objects. The unique, limited and industrially produced creations all originate from sketches translated into prototypes in his own modest studio. More often than not, he finds solutions through manual material interventions. This method led to collaborations with 37degrees, Deknudt Mirrors, Drisag Office Furniture, Modular Lighting Instruments, Ligne Roset, Theo eyewear and Thonet, among others. He also worked with textile designer Eef Oost on table linen and founded the felt chair brand Fox & Freeze with Tom De Vrieze. To sell his own production, he founded the Pièce Ludique brand in 2024.
