Please join the international conference on biobased construction on October 1 in Leeuwarden, Fryslân, The Netherlands. Expect inspiring keynote speakers providing imagination, insight on European policy and practical examples. The conference provides plenty of opportunities for networking and future project development. Additionally, a study tour throughout the region will lead you to frontrunner companies and organizations working in the biobased value chains in Fryslân. It is the final conference of the Interreg North Sea Region BBoBB project, were multiple regions have been working on solutions to scale up biobased value chains in the North Sea region. During the conference the main results and lessons learned from the project will be shared.

Keynotes
The conference kicks off with an inspiring plenary session. We are happy to welcome our keynote speakers:
Lucas de Man is a creative mind and well known speaker, recognized for his work on the future of design, sustainability and the built environment. He has extensive experience in making complex topics accessible to a wide audience and is involved in initiatives that explore new ways of living, working and building. In his keynote, he offers a fresh perspective on accelerating the shift towards a biobased built environment. He will highlight what is needed to move from promising examples to real large scale application, and how different actors can work together to make this happen.
Pieter Faber is Head of the EU Office of Cities Northern Netherlands in Brussels, where he represents the interests of four cities. In this role, he works at the intersection of local ambitions and European policy, connecting regional challenges to opportunities within European programs and funding. In his talk, he will provide insight into the future direction of European funding. Drawing on his experience in Brussels, he will explain how priorities within the EU are shifting and what this means for regions and projects in practice. His keynote will focus on the implications of these developments and how regions can respond to them.
