Discover with other designers from Flanders, Wallonia and France how you can design in a sustainable way, thanks to a deep dive workshop with ecodesign tools. OVAM takes the lead.

OVAM, the Public Waste Agency of Flanders, is convinced ecodesign is the key solution in closing materials cycles. The application of ecodesign is essential if we want to use raw materials efficiently and create a true circular economy. For designers, resource efficiency, recycling and socially responsible solutions are as important as functionality and aesthetics. Sustainability should be the minimum standard and products, services, systems and cycles should be designed in such a way that they create added value on an economical, social and ecological level. This way, the current and future needs of all stakeholders can be met without exceeding the earth's capacity.

OVAM has created 2 practical tools for people who want to design in a more sustainable manner: the Ecolizer and the SIS Toolkit (SIS stands for Sustainable Innovation System). The Ecolizer quickly and easily calculates the environmental impact of your product and helps you lower its environmental impact. The SIS Toolkit helps you integrate the core principles of sustainability into the innovation and design processes and facilitates the creation of sustainable value.
